IKK PIONEER OF '48 IS CALLED BY DEATH John F- Cahooih a pioneer of MS and a member of the Lot Smith company of volunteer Indian fighters, died of Uright's disease, from whlc-h he had suffered for six or seven months, at his homo on Central Cen-tral avenue, at 12::i0 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The funeral will be held from the residence of the only daughter. Mrs. A. G. Angel), n 14 Second lOast street, at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, with burial in the City cemetery. Mr. Cahoon was born in Lcc county, la.. October 10. ISI10- His parents brought him to Utah from JCnuvoo, 111., when he was only S years old. For years he was employed as a-car builder on the Utah Central railroad and the Oregon Short Line. Then ho engaged in the contracting' contract-ing' carpenter business until about three years ago. when his health began to fall, and he retired. Five sons are left, as follows: John S.. William V.. James S and Hyde S.. all of this oily, and Roy Cahoon of Bountiful. Bounti-ful. William F. Cahoon Is a city fireman. Joseph Cahoon of the Salt Lake Transfer! company Is a brother, and a sister.
