It was In Yiddish. The company which presented this charming play was tho best one seen upon the Salt Lake stage for a long time. In Its entirey It was the best company com-pany of players that has over appeared In the old play house. Every member was a star. David Kesslcr Is at the top of Jewish actors. lie combines the tragedian with the tenor, tho actor with the minsLrel. He has a magnificent tenor voice. lie Is a superb actor. And his company was a splendid one. Rosa TCarp has been seen here before She Is an actress, ns also a song bird, another happy combination, and she is just as pretty and Just as charming as over. Mine. Nadolsky made her first appearance appear-ance in Zlon with the company. She had a role that was ideal thai fitted Imperfectly. Im-perfectly. Mine. Clara Young likewise appeared before a Salt Lake audience. She has a fino voice and her waltz song was encored en-cored again and ngnln. Of the other members of the company tho rolos assigned them wero admirably carried cut. Thero were a number of curtain calls. It Is to be regretted that the audience present was not a rapacity ra-pacity one, but It was an appreciative one. j Wlllaxd Mack, made a 'happy selection of play In this week's offering at the Orpheum. for "Merely Mary Ann" tits his charming wife. Miss Leone, as no bill they have offerod In the course of their long stock engagement here. TJio bill Is a varied one and consists of several acts that have created a sensation In every city In which thoy have appeared. Unwonted Interest should be evidenced evi-denced at the Salt Lake theater tomorrow tomor-row morning upon the occasion of the opening of tho seat salo for the engagement engage-ment of Mrs. Flake, which Is scheduled for Friday nnd Saturday evenings, with matinee on Saturday. Just a riot of color and costumes, n dash of comedy hero and there, and all of it carried along on a lilting plot that Is all fun and mirth and melody, is "Tne Jolly Widow" at the Daniels this week. Large crowds were In attendance at tho Shubert theater last evening, and tho bill offered his week was very well received. re-ceived. Tho Star Comedy Trio gave a finished presentation of the laughable farce comedy. "Almost a Sonator," tho work of Fred Stansfleld as tho Irish laborer la-borer being especially well done.
