Show INTERSTATE COMMERCE COMMISSION HEARING Special to Tho Tribune. OGDEN, Sept. 24. Examiner C. F. Gurry of the interstate commerce commission com-mission stopped over in Ogden today for several hours to take testimony In the claim of the Oregon Lumber company of Ogdcn against the Oregon Railroad k Navigation company, Oregon Short Line and the San Pedro. Los Angeles & Salt Lake Railway companies for ?13SS alleged overpaid freight charges. Witnesses for the lumber company said that the transportation companies had charged for a shipment of lumber at the rate of 60,000 pounds to the car when but 50,000 pounds of lumber was loaded Into each car, because of tho regulation of the common carriers regarding the height of loaded lumber cars. It is mora for tho purpose of establishing estab-lishing an equitable understanding between be-tween the lumber company and the common com-mon carriers that the claim is being pressed. W. B. Mowbrey appeared before the examiner on behalf of the lumber company, com-pany, while Parley L. Williams represented repre-sented the transportation cotnnanlcs. Before continuing his trip to California, Examiner Gerry announced that a decision de-cision will bo filed on the claim in a Bhort time. He was accoinpnnled to Ogdfen by his secretary and stenographer, E. P. El son. |
