The members of the American club held an enthusiastic meeting In the city courtroom court-room Wednesday evening. The chairman of the meeting on the outing of tho Americans at Lagoon, July L'0, reported that excellent progress was being made, and that "American day" at the pretty Farmlnglon resort will be the biggest thing in history. Tho club resolved to amend the constitution con-stitution so that the election of officers shall be on the Ural Tuesday of August Instead of tho first Tuesday In September, Septem-ber, as has been tho custom horctofore. The club aleo passed resolutions of condolence with the bereaved widow of A. C. Riser, who died a few days ago. and who was an active worker In the American club. "We extend lo his bereaved be-reaved ones." the resolutions say, "our heartfelt sympathy In this, the hour of their sorrow; that we feel mor.t keenly the hand of affliction that rests upon them; that wo offer to them such comfort com-fort nnd solace as may come from expressions expres-sions of regret from the hearts of those who knew nnd loved tho one for whom they mourn." |
