Show A demented woman sad EM CAUSED THROUGH HER HUSBANDS DEATH how her emaciated body was discovered NEW YORK sept 17 mrs mary kenny has been missing since september jtb and her friends and relatives were searching for her all over the city ain ce the agath of her husband last may mrs kenney has been in a dangerous state of mind she could not bo consoled after a time it was noticed that her mind was yielding to the pressure of affliction and a watch was set upon her she became worse and had an idea that her husband was still alive and the police were concealing him from her at that time she wandered about the streets looking for her husband and frequently asked policemen on duty when they expected him to come along suddenly she changed and thought the police were in pursuit of her then she avoided them she ran into hallways and side streets when she saw them approaching and told her friends they were chasing her and intended driving her into the river the day of her disappearance she sent bridget leonard a woman who was stopping with her on an errand and when the old woman came back airs kenney was gone bridget sought her among other families living in the house but could find no trace of her concern was felt about her on account of her condition and half a dozen women scoured the neighborhood not a trace of the missing woman was discovered it was then supposed that she had thrown herself into the river and the morgue was searched and the waters watched at arary side but gave no token of the missing woman in the meantime the chimney of the house began to smoke stoves were used in most of the apartments and the pipes appeared all at once to lose qualities the landlord was informed odthe defective condition of the flue but took no notice the smoke became worse and the tenants again appealed to the owner during the recent storm the smoke returned to the kitchens and became unbearable the tenants then made a combined cotest to the landlord and he or alered a man to clean the chimney the flue waa wide and solidly constructed ted mrs kenney occupied the top floor and the grate opening into her parlor was nearly as wide as those on the lower floors the man em aloyed to free the chimney went up on the roof and thrower a brick into it and presently an odor issued that drove him back from the opening he probed around with a stick and presently he distinguished an outstretched arm reaching up with a plain gold ang hanging on the fleshless middle finger he started back in a fright and cried out for help an investigation was made and then the body of mrs kenney was discovered and the mystery of her disappearance cleared up A number of policemen and firemen helped to remove the brick and tear down the chimney and soon the emaciated body was from its dismal hiding place another WEST CHESTER pa sept 17 the breast of a large dam located near Sigh burn this morning and a tremendous amount of water rushed down the brandywine river overflowing form of a white girl her nakedness being hid by tattered and worn undergarments her face was pale as her eyes gleamed in an unnatural manner As the sergeant entered she rushed toward him and aluag
