Show laid at rest the funeral services over the remains of elder thomas allman were held at the meetinghouse meeting house at three tuesday afternoon after singing by the choir presidents AO david john and isaac bullock elder W W packard and J P E johnson made consoling and encouraging remarks the remains were interred in the cemetery the dedicatory prayer being offered by elder 0 D glazier the deceased was the son of john and catherine and was born at handley staffordshire england may he was baptized in 1841 and emigrated to nauvoo iu 1842 where he received his blessings in the nauvoo temple he came from galena to utah in 1850 he labored on the public works in salt lake city for six years and he moved from there to american fork in the fall of where he super intended the construction of the meet ing house on the dav that house was dedicated he was appointed by president B young to superintend the carpenters work of the meeting house in provo he moved to in the summer of 1861 and accomplished the work detailed to him by president the deceased has worked on the nauvoo st george and manti temples he acted as counselor to the bishop of the first ward provo for many years he was a member of the high council of bah stake for several years and for the last three months of his life he acted as counselor to the president of the hinh priest quorum of the stake he 13 the father of fourteen children ten of whom survive him two sons and six daughters these with two loving wives mourn his loss he has been ailing and gradually bailine for the last twelve norths |
