Beatrice King, of Gordon academy, was declared winner of ihe first State oratorical high school contest, held in Utah under the auspices of tho University Univer-sity of Utah at, the University Saturday Satur-day evening. Miss Xing did not receive re-ceive the unanimous vote of the judges, ! however. Their deliberations wero rather rath-er leugthy, but their decision was favorably fa-vorably received by tho largo audience in attendance. Second place was awarded to Cloyd Woollev, of the Salt Lake high school. Miss Netta Powell, of Roland hull, and W illiam Boberts, of Snow acadomv, wore given special mention.
