march aap is furnished by john D dion corresponding secretary for the stake A business meeting of the wis head on saturday afternoon ter noon and an interesting variety meeting in the evening with a bood attendance reports of associations and missionary labor were given by counselor C E anderson J S boyer jr president charles bird mapleton aident john 0 attenson St tenson sister minerva south branch springville Spring ville sister bird maple ton I 1 bupt supt G H the officers to conduct their meetings in the most effectual manner keep the bishops posted in regard to the workings of the associations and carrying out the plan and pro gramme as set forth in the con counselor J W cluff reminded he officers of the great y resting upon them and exhorted them make their associations beneficial efi cial on sunday morning the neville meetinghouse meeting house was filled among those presenta presen tT on hie stand was david john the stake choir in connection with the springville Spring ville choir under the leadership of professor jamese daniels excellent music bupt supt G H brimhall expressed his pleasure with the reports given in the business meeting aua called for further reports which were given and showed that they were carrying out the contris contrib plan and keeping their lectures going as near as possible president david john was pleased with the reports given and would have preferred to have listened instead of speaking these associations have done a good work throughout alie territory and will continue to do good those that attend them are cultivating their talents in alie spirit of the gospel there is an awakening among the old and young and wo should strive to cultivate the spirit of love one toward another appreciate one an others good qualities while we yet live teach our families to serve god and obey his commandments mand ments search for knowledge from all good books and not waste time in novel but rather devote our time to learning the a great system of education and abo time will come when these associations would follow a systematic plan more closely than at pres ent we should not slight our sabbath school on account of our improvement association hut they are intended to be a help and aid to the priesthood we have been greatly favored in our labors by alie aid of the presidency of this staked counselor J W cluff could not help but note the progress made by the associations they are nurseries where we can learn the principles of the goa pel we should humble ourselves be foro the lord and be proper condition to
