Negotiation's have been concluded whereby tho Saratoga springs will, in a few days, pass from tho Utah-Idaho Sugar conipany into I the hands of a company of Utah capi- 1 talists, composed in part of Simcn Bam- I berger. Ira D. Wines. T. Tt. ' Cutler, George Austin, and other Salt Lakers. The deal necessitated an outlay of something some-thing like $00,000, and tho new owners will likely spend a similar sum n making mak-ing improvement and another $50,000 will be required to build a railway connecting con-necting the resort with tho railroads at Lchi. Tho springs are located on tho shores of Utah lake, near the head of tho River Jordan. The natural advantages I are the beautiful Utah lake, with its boating, fiskiug, bathing and duck hunt-I hunt-I ing attractions; the thermal springs, ' widely known for iheir curative pow-! pow-! crs, and the beautiful lawns, trees and ! magnificent view. It can be made an all-year resort and has been pronounced by many to be tho most ideal resort ;jx Utah. An hour's ride will bring Salt Lakers to the resort and then there will be the mining camps of Tintic and the dozen lowus of Utah county to draw from. The springs also cany with them 300 acres of fine farming land and the new owners will also probably establish ono of the best blooded stock farms here that will bo found iu tho West. Yesterdav witnessed tho opening of the now Uuion hotel here, under the management of Mrs. E. McDonald. This one-time popular hostelry, which originally or-iginally cost .15,000. has recently been refitted, with steam heat, hot and cold water, new furnishings, verandas, cement ce-ment walks, etc.. at an additional cost of $8000, making it today sccoud to no hotel in tho State outside- of Salt Lake and Ogden. Ira U. Wines is largely responsible- for the new improvements and the reopening. .The Republicans will hold their primary pri-mary Wednesday evening in tho opera-house opera-house to elect delegates to tho judicial, State and county conventions. The party here has been divide J into two factions and a warm time is expected, iso one has openly announced himself for office, but the names of Morgan hvans for Sheriff, Willium Ashor for County Treasurer. Bishop Gardner. Par-ley-Austin, and Bishop Henrv Lewis for the Legislature have been mentioned.
