Although trade In tho wheat pit was only of moderate volume, vol-ume, the market was firm all day and closed near the highest point of the Northwestern markets In the face of tho heavy movement of the new crop. Arrivals Ar-rivals today at Minneapolis nnd Duluth were 1355 cars, against 6S1 cars a year ago, and slocks at Minneapolis were reported re-ported to have Increased by 2,000,000 bushel9 In the past five days. This heavy movement to the Northwestern market was offset by brisk doniand for flour at Minneapolis, where sales of 125,000 barrels bar-rels were said to have been made over night. Export business hero wus practically prac-tically at a standstill, but seaboard reported re-ported sales of twelve boatloads, Clearances of wheat and flour wero equal to 1,490,000 bushels, which la almost al-most the record for a single day. Corn was strong all day. Prices at tho sample tables advanced c to 1c above yesterday's level. Tho October delivery advanced to 77c after opening at 741c. The close was strong, with prices up c to lc, compared with the previous close. Tho oats market was strong throughout through-out the day. Provisions were a trifle easier early in the day on renewed liquidation of October Oc-tober delivery, but rallied later on a brisk general demand.
