Show gone to rest I 1 almara tiffany departed this life on thursday february afa p m sister tiffany daughter of adaniel and i mary whipple was born june in the town of sanford broom new york married to georee tiffany 1829 baptized by elder john hughea ohio january 31 1842 went to nauvoo july 1844 was a member of the first female relief society which had been organized previously by the prophet joseph smith she shared in the persecution which the saint had to pass in those days moved to winter quarters in 1847 endured want and suffering peculiar to those times of cold and scant provisions crossed the plains in 1851 and in that long and tedious journey gave birth to a son her youngest child after residing in salt lake city a short time she moved to ogden where she resided until when the saints in the north left their homes to go south she settled in the provo first ward where she resided up to theotime the time of her death aster tiffany had been in ill health and a great sufferer upwards of forty years all of which eha bore uncomplainingly ever remaining a true and consistent latter day saint many tittles during her last illness her faith in the ordinances of the gospel were manifest receiving great benefits the funeral services were well attended by numerous friends consoling remarks were made by elders alfred newell moroni L pratt thomas giles lewis harvey and bishop J P E Jo linson she had performed a good work and has gone to await the joyous glories of the resurrection day r T T 1 aj J |
