To whom It may concern: Xotlco is hereby given, that undor and by authority of a majority vote of tho qualified electors of Salt Lako City, Utah, at on election duly held In snid city July 29, 190S, favoring tho incurring of a bonded Indebtedness In the sum of four hundred and seventy-ilvo thousand ($475,000.00) dollars, for the purpose of defraying the uxpenso of Increasing, improving, im-proving, enlarging, extending, perfecting and adding to the water supply and waterworks system of said city in tho way and manner set out in an ordinance submitting sub-mitting tho question of Incurring said indebtedness in-debtedness to said qualified electors, passed by tho City Council Juno IS, 190S, and approved by tho Mayor Juno 19, 1908; and nlso favoring tho Incurring of a bonded Indebtedness In tho sum of ono hundred and twenty-Ilvo thousand (S125.000.00) dollars, for tho purpose of completing, Increasing, extending and adding to the sower system of snld city In the way and manner set out in said ordinance, Snlt Lako City proposes to lssuo and sell bonds of tho face value ot four hundred and seventy-five thousand ($475,000.00) dollars, to Increase, improve enlarge, extend, perfect and add to its water supply and waterworks syatom as aforesaid; and bonds of tho face valuo of ono hundred nnd twcnty-llvo thousand (S125, 000.00) dollars, to complete, Increase, extend and add to its sower system as aforesaid, said bonds to bear Interest nt tho rato not to exceed four nnd one-half (4J) per cent per annum, payablo semiannually, semi-annually, and bocomo duo and payable at the end of twenty years from tho date of lssuo, with the option reserved to tho city to pay or refund tho samo at any time after tha expiration of ten (10) years af tor tho da to of lseuo, and shall bo of such denomination or denominations as the City Council may hereafter determine. deter-mine. The net revenue from said wator system Bhall bo set apart, and shall bo a (Unking fund for tho pnyment of said water bonds, and tho intorost thereon; and tho City Council shall annually levy a sufficient tax to pay tho Intoreat on said sewer bonds as It falls due, and also to constitute a sinking fund for the payment pay-ment of the princlpnl thereof. I That undor nnd pursuant to a resolution of tho City Council of Salt Lako City passed August G. 1908, nnd approved by tho Mayor August 7, 1908, the undersigned under-signed Mayor and City Recorder of said city wore authorized and directed to advertise ad-vertise for bids for said bonds, in certain newspapers thoroin named. Xow. therefore, In conformity with said I resolution, and under the directions therein there-in contained, the undersigned Mayor and City Recorder of Salt Lake City hereby glvo notlco that bids will be received for tho purchase of said bonds tintil August 31. 1008. at 7:30 o'clock p. m., at which time all bids must be in tho hands of the City Kecordor, and will then bo opened. All bonds tp be dated Octobor 1, 1008. and to be purchased and paid for In the following manner: WATER 130XDS. Two hundred thousand (?200.000.00) dollars dol-lars thereof on October ls 100S; Ono hundred and fifty thousand ($150.-000.00) ($150.-000.00) dollars thereof on January 1, 1909; and tho remaining one hundrod nnd twcnty-llvo thousand (5125.000.00) dollars thereof on April 1. 1909. SEWER BOXDS. Ono hundred and twenty-five thousand ($125,000.00) dollars on Octobor 1, 1908. Each and every bid for tho purchase of said bonds shall bo accompanied with a certified check for ono per cant of tho face aluo of bonds bid for, payable to tho order of tho City Treasurer of Salt Lake City, as a guaranty of good faith on the part of tho bidder, and to reimburse re-imburse said city for its loss and expense In this behalf in caso tho bidder shall not perform his bid after acceptance thereof by the city. Xo bid will be considered con-sidered for less than the face value of said bonds.
