Show RIDERS LOSE WHEELS II COLiSElM FIRE Puts Sudden Stop to Bicycle j Racing Present Winter j in Boston. The bicycle riders who have been racing in Boston during tho present winter have lost $2475 in wheels in a j firo which burned dowu tho Park Square Coliseum last Sunday. For many j-ears tins old landmark was tho Providence depot, which was fitted put j as a public entertainment hall after the Boston union depot was completed. Every racing man in the east sustained sus-tained "a heavy loss except Hugh McLean, Mc-Lean, who had his bicycles insured. Eight motor cycles, used ns pacing machines, ma-chines, were included in tho loss. During tho past few years Boston has been the homo of the indoor bt-cvcle bt-cvcle game, nnd the firo wns a so-vere so-vere blow, both to the riders, and to the fans. The former are now without a place in which to ride andk the latter cannot see their favorites in action. The racing has now been called oft until the opening of the Revere Beach track next spring. |
