Sherman's condition, resulting re-sulting from tho passage of gallstones, rapidl' neared normal today. Mrs. Sherman, Sher-man, who arose from a-sick bed at her home yesterday to come here, was also much improved today. She lis now occupying oc-cupying a room near her husband at Lakeside hospital. Tho physicians expressed ex-pressed the belief, however, that Mr. Shot-man should undergo an operation as soon as he has fully recovered and before be-fore the fall campaign begins, in order to avoid another attack. Tho vice-presideutial candiduto agreed that this might be advisable. Mr. Sherman was notified of tho deaLh of former President Grover Cleveland. JIo expressed great sorrow and said ho would send a telegram of condolence to Mrs. Cleveland later in tho day. Mr. Sherman now expects to bo able to leave tho hospital not later t ha; Saturday Sat-urday next, unless new complications arise. At 12:45 p. m. Mr. Sherman was quietly quiet-ly sleeping, with his temperature, respiration res-piration and pulse practically m rmal. At U p. m. there was no perceptible chango in Mr. Sherman's condition. He was said to bo resting comfortably. At o p. m. Congressman Sherman's condition was said by his physicians to bo all that could bo desired. lie slept at intervals most of the afternoon. At 10 p. m. Dr. Carter stated that the patient was sleeping soundly and that his condition was very favorable.
