Joe Col-ir Col-ir or. t:... i? t - i . . -1 section foreman in the Lnraniie 3'ards of the Union Pacific, "was run down by a switch engine this afternoon, meeting almost instant death. John Reimers, foreman of the section just south of the 3'ard section, had his left leg broken above the ankle. Tho men were -working at the same poiut in the east end of the yard, and had stepped to one side to allow a freight train to pass, when both were struck by the tender of the engine. Collins was thrown under the tender and Reimers to one side Tho engino passed over Collins, cutting oil' his right hand, mangling both his legs above and below tho knees and fracturing frac-turing his skull. Ho was taken from the track and omitted one' or two fjroans, but did not speak, and died in ess than a minute after the engine had passed over him. Coronor Firth took chargo of tho body and will hold an inquest tomorrow. Dr. L. Tcbbitt and Miss Jean Dur-lncher Dur-lncher were married here today. Dr. Tobbitt. is a practicing phj'sician. Miss Durlacher was married in the same house in which she was born and in which she has lived all her life.. Tiey left late this afternoon for Denver.
