Show CRITCHLOW'S SUGGESTION Attorney-General Moody Talks About tho Appointment. Special to Tho Trlbuno. WASHINGTON. D. C, Oct. 10. -Attorney-General Moody explained today that E. B. Critchlow. appointed specjal United States Attorney to assist tho Government in the suit to cancel patents pat-ents to coal lands obtained by the railroads rail-roads in Utah. Colorado, and other Western Slates, because Judge Bartch, tho last Attorney-General who had the caso for tho Government, recommondod his appointment because of his special knowledge of certain phases of the case. The appointment of Mr. Critchlow Critch-low is without significance, said tho Attornoy-Goncral. Senator Sutherland was questioned about tho appointment as ho was leaving leav-ing the White House. "I. think Mr. Critchlow was selected because ho. is. a very lino lawyer, ami the Attorney-General Attorney-General doubtless desired him. I don't believe politics figured iu Mr. Critchlow Critch-low s appointment, but T know nothing about it:" |
