Show ALIEN LAW IS IN FORCE Germnn EmmigTanta Are First to Be Refused Admission. LONDON. Jan 1 The alien law passed at the last session of Parliament came Into force today. The first elf Opt of the new law was that the Immigration Immigra-tion officers refused to permit the landing land-ing of twenty -four of forty -two immigrants immi-grants from Germany. The alien act prohibits Immigrants from landing In Great Britain exc.pt at ports where an Immigration ofttcer Is stationed, and only with big consent and after a 1 Meal Inspection. Immigrants may be refused permission to land If un-kble un-kble to ghow that they are In a position to obtnln means to keep themselves decently, de-cently, if Insane; If. on acpount of disease dis-ease or other causes, they are likely to become a charge to the taxpayers; if they have been avnlncrd abroad for an extraditable crime not of a political m-ture. m-ture. or If thev have previously been expelled from Great Britain.
