Show GIVEN A PROMOTION William Gulney Selected as Manager of Lyric Theater. In recognition of his valuable and faithful faith-ful services as treasurer, William Gulney was Saturday promoted to the position of manager of tho Lyric theater, to succeed suc-ceed Walter S. Moss, the veteran theatrical the-atrical man, whose death occurred last Wednesday at tho Holy Cross hospital. For ecveral weeks prior to the death of Mr. Moss. Mr. Gulney performed the duties du-ties of manager of the popular plavhouse with credit, and his advancement Is a Mgnal tribute to his business ability. Tho appointment was made by R. A. Grant of Ogden, Utah representative of John Cort. president and general manager of tho Northwestern Theatrical circuit. Although a young man. Mr. Gulney has had considerable experience in the theatrical the-atrical business, and since his connection of about three months with tho Lyric theater has mado many friends in thin city. For several years Mr. Gulney was connected with the theatrical circles of Boston and New York and In various capacities ca-pacities mado an enviable record. Prior to coming to Salt Lake ho was engaged in business for himself. He was quite successful, but a desire to sec tho West caused him to determine to follow the advice of the Immortal Horace Greeley. |
