Show FIRE CHIEF CHARLES VAIL IS HONORED Fire Chicr Charles T. Vail was honored nt tho recent convention of tho International Interna-tional Fire Chiefs' association in Washington. Wash-ington. D. C-, by being elected to tho office of-fice of state vice-president for Utah, lie was nominated by Chief Fillmore Tyson of Louisville, and his election was unanimous. unan-imous. There were about 500 chiefs In attendance upon tho convention from all parts of the country. Following the close of tho convention. Chief Vail attended the Jamestown exposition. expo-sition. Ho also visited Norfolk, Va.. Now York Clly, Chicago and Omaha, and inspected in-spected tho tire departments of tho various vari-ous cities. His observations redounded in favor of the homo department. "With the exception of water towers, we havo as up-to-date apparatus as I found In any other place," said Chief Vail.
