The effect of this announcement will be to divert hoineseekers from Utah in even greater numbers than at present. Soveral western cities will doubtlessly rejoice over such news. They will gather the harvest rightfully our own. They will continue to build in population and! grandeur through tho addition of wealth and citizens that -would come to Utah and to Salt Lake were it not a conviction in the East that tho Mormon priests aTe keeping their hands in al affairs of the people. The Mormon church leaders are bitterly hated by the average American. Ameri-can. And this hatred will keep Salt Lake in the background until there is a Gentile victory here. It is a condition that cannot be ignored and the longer the progressive progres-sive element in Salt Lake postpones voting to overcome the prejudice against this good city the longer it will be until there shall be substantial substan-tial growth for tho city. The issue must be fought out at the polls. There will be no better time to settle this controversy than this year. "Delay is worse than business busi-ness and social suicide.
