McClellan is best known to tho public pub-lic as an organist, but In last night's performance per-formance he reached high rank as a pianist. This talented son of Utah was much appreciated, a was evidenced by the applause and the flower. Responding Re-sponding to this appreciation, ho played exquisitely the Mendelssohn "Spring Song." Anthony E. Carlson was the vocal soloist, and his fine voice gave much pleasure, though his encore selections gave It better opportunities than did his programme numbers, which wero tlio aria. "She Alono Charmeth My Sadness." by Gounod, and Mephlstopheles' Serenade from "Faust." Ills encore songs, which wero demanded by vigorous applause, wero "Auf Wlcder Sohen," "Tho Three Roses" and a pretty one by Chadwick. The work of tho orchestra was better than ever, and Prof. Shepherd and' his musicians and the othors who havo labored to make the orchestra a success havo reason to bo greatly encournged by the advance made, artistically. Tho snlo will begin at tho Theater box offico next Thursday morning, and on that day only four tickets will bo sold to ono person for any performance, tho boxes, of course, being excepted. The sale of four seats to all operas will bo permitted, but nobody no-body will be allowed on tho opening day to take a greater number for any ono performance. per-formance.
