Longer smokes Cor a nickel will be the rule throughout the country if a proposition prop-osition submitted to the International Inter-national Clgarmakers" union of America Ameri-ca for a referendum vote by union cl-garmakers cl-garmakers of Chicago Is acted upon favorably by a majority of the local unions. The proposition means better pay and better working conditions, and is expected to receive the endorsement of Milwaukee clgarmakora. According to the proposed agreement, which will be submitted to owners of all union shops and on which a vote Is expected In a month, a demand Is to be made for a uniform gunge to be used ln regulating the thickness of cigars. On mold work the pay is to be $9 per thousand, thou-sand, against previously. Under the new agreement the lengtji of cigars would be Increased one-fourth of an inch, and the present size of one and one-fourth Inches would be abolished.
