Bill Posters and DistrlbutoiB Bo It Ordained by the City Council b2 Salt Lake City Utah Section 1 It shall be unlawful to erector erect-or construct wllhln ihe corporate limits of Salt Lake City any sign board or billboard bill-board or other slruclurc used or Intended to be used for advertising purposes which shall bo of a greater height than twelve 12 feet measured vertically from Ito grade of the lot whereon the same Is creeled or conslruclcd and the same shall not bo located nearer iban twelve 12 fccc from the Inside line of any sidewalk All such sign boards bill boards or other structures heroin mentioned shall be so II constructed as to leave an open space of nol less than two 2 feet measured from tho surface of the ground vertically to u the lowest point of said sign boards bill IS31 boards or other structures liffif1 See 2 All existing sign boards billboards Vf bill-boards and other structures used or in Jriv tended to be used for advertising purposes JJftfri which do not conform lo tho provisions of this ordinance shall be removed or so changed and altered as to conform therewith there-with on or before the lirsc day of July Zy 1003 If the owner or person provided he shall be punished as hereinafter herein-after provided and such sign board billboard bill-board or other structure shall bo torn down by the Building Inspector Sec 3 Any person tlrm or corporation maintaining any sign board bill board or other structuro described In ihe foregoing sections shall at his or their own expense ex-pense keep the ground on either side thereof clean and free from waste lllth and accumulation of every kind and nature na-ture and tthall keep Ito same In u good a healthy clean and sanitary condition and any failure to comply with thIs section sec-tion shall bo punished as herelnalter pro itui vided Sec I Tho foregoing sections of this ordinance shall not be deemed to affect signs painted on buildings or used by I the occupants or owners of any prcmsles to advertise the business of such occupants or owners Sec 5 It shall be unlawful for any person firm or corporation to engage In the business of bill posting or distributing distribut-ing of hand bills without first obtaining Ii license therefor in the manner prescribed by ordinance and paying the license lax hereinafter provided Sec fi Tho license tax for distributing hand bills ihall be Iwmty 2000 dollars per annum and for bill posting llfly 5000 dollars per annum provided that ii lIcense as bill poster shall Include the privilege of distributing hand bills Sec 7 It shall be unlawful to I willfully tear cut remove destroy mutilate deface de-face or otherwise Injure any poster curd or other advertisement lawfully posted or painted upon any sign board bill board or other structure used for advcrlisliiff purposes Soc S Any person or persons llrm or corporation who fit her as principal agent clerk employe or servant violati disobeys dis-obeys omits neglects or refuses to comply with the provisions of this ordinance Is gullly of a misdemeanor and upon con vlctJon thereof shall be punished by a lino of not less than live S5uuI < 0 dollars and not exceeding ono hundred 10000
