Show I STRIKE AT COLORADO CITY Labor Trouble Has Taken on Threatening Threat-ening Aspect TRIBUNK SPECIAL J Denver Colo Feb 28Tho strike among the mlllmen at Colorado City took on a threatening aspect late tonight to-night by the men employed at the Portland Port-land and Telluridc mills voting to Join the strikers at the Standard mill Each of these three mills employs about 250 men The Standard mill Is owned by the United States Reduction and RelIning Re-lIning company commonly known as the mill trust The Portland treats only ores from the Portland mine at Cripple Creek The Telluride is a custom cus-tom mill The strike grows out of a refusal to raise wages and may extend to Crip plo Creek and Florence where the mill trust has mines and reduction works Until tonights action It was believed that the strike would be conilned to the mills operated by the trust The mills have been treating about 55000 tons of ore each month and last year extracted 513500000 In gold |
