Show INVESTIGATION OF MATTER Coroners Jury Will Examine Mine Today Law in the Case County Attorney C A Callis of Summit Sum-mit county was at Kamas yesterday on his way on a fisHIng excursion when the ncws reached him of the terrible disaster at Park City He made all haste to the scene of the disaster and began arranging at once for an investigation inves-tigation Time Jury will nit today nnd twentyfive witnesses will bo subpoenaed subpoe-naed to give their testimony Attorney Callis will go with I lie I jury to time mine this t morning and it I is his Intention to Institute the most searching Investigation Inves-tigation t I Ihe Jury will go down 1mm I to the mine and leave nothing undone to determine tho exact cause oC the accident ac-cident and to llx the responsibility Attorney Callis Is not certain as to the law covering the case The Daly West mine he paid Is outside the corporate limits of Park City so that the Park City ordinances have nothing to do with the matter Iun not certain cer-tain as to the county ordinances on the subject hut will look up that part of the law before the Jury Is I called In the morning There is a statute governing such matters as to coal mines but there is no general law as to silver and other mines There is also a great deal of bitter bit-ter feeling expressed against Foreman John Nimmo Attorney Chum smld for hlH refusal to permit the cage togo to-go down In time mine for the rescue of John McLnughlln This young man was one of the most active Jn the work of rescuing the men On his last trip 7rmTi into hti mlno ho was overcome with the gas and failed to come up with his comrades When this was discovered discov-ered the men wore wild to go down and get him out but Foreman Nimmo refused re-fused to let tho cage go down into the mine again This matter will be Investigated as a separate case by the jury |
