Show i THE WATER AGREEMENT I The proposition submitted yesterday by Mr Gabbott on behalf of the farmers farm-ers with respect to the Parleys cn yon water was a reasonable one and was promptly accepted by the other commissioners by Mr Doremus for the general good and by Mr Fisher on behalf of the city This settles the contention it is to be honed permanently perma-nently for this season The basis of the agreement Is that Mr Doremuss measurement of the 1llh Jnslant Is taken for the standard That showed a Mow in Parleys creek of TfSfiOOO cal Ions dally The city is to get 2000000 gallons 1311000 gallons or 171 per cent of the whole Is deducted for other primary pri-mary rights This leaves JMOOOO gal lonu to the farmers which they are entitled en-titled to take without let or hindrance But whenever the city can furnish that four million gallons from the canal the farmers are content to receive It from there and allow the city the whole of the creek or If there Is any deficiency in the canal the city will be allowed to furnish as much canal water as It can and make up the deficiency from Parleys Par-leys canyon In which case we trust It may be piped down and so the waste of four gallons to deliver one be stopped The spirit of neighborly fairness Is evident in ibis settlement and we believe be-lieve it will tend to good will all around and will at once give the city the whole of Parleys creek for there Is said lo be ample water in the canal to meet the demands of the agreement and give the farmers their full supply |
