Services Form Part of Ceremony With the beautiful ritual of the Episcopal Epis-copal church the remains of the late Rt Rev Abiel Leonard were yestercay laid 1 at rest in Ml Olivet cemetery TheE The-E Marks cathedral and the surrounding grounds being entirely inadequate to accommodate ac-commodate all who oairc MANY BEAU1 FULL FLOWERS The silent tolcens of sympathy In the form of HoVil offerings were exquisite Indeed and so numerous were they that the organ loft chancel and altar rail i were completely hidden from view Among the muny beautiful pieces seen were a pillar of white carnations entwined I en-twined with pink roses n blanlet oi smilax and violets a tall cross of ivy 1 interwoven with white I chrysanthemums chrysanthe-mums violets and pink roses several Gates Ajar a cross of white hyacinths hya-cinths and violets 2 solid starshaped piece of white chrysanthemums and dozens of long loose clusters of the most beautiful flowers of the season Over the dark casket was thrown n loose covering of purple broadcloth and on this rested a few palm leaves ALL IN GOOD TASTE Simple Indeed were the decorations or the cathedral Bishop Leonards chair was draped In purple and back or it was a bank of beautiful palms The pulpit and organ were draped In black and n wreath of palms tied with purple ple ribbon marked the family paws THE STRIFE IS OER Every pew and ever chair In the ca thcdial was occupied and scores of people peo-ple were standing when the solemn strains of Chopins funeral march played play-ed by Mr Peabody announced the entrance en-trance of the clergy and the members of the family First rnme the visiting bishops then the visiting clergy the members of the family walking directly behind tho casket As the procession neared the chancel rail choir and congregation con-gregation Joined In singing The Strife is Oer the Battles Done The two burial chants beginning with the PsalniH Lord let me know mine end nnd Lord Thou hast been our refuge were sung by choir and congregation FINE MUSICAL PROGRAMME Bishop Moreland o Sacramento Bishop Olmstead of Denver and Bishop Funston of Boise assisted In the service ser-vice I which was the ritual used at all funerals conducted by Episcopal clergymen clergy-men In addition to the numbers named above the t musical programme arranged by Mr Peabody included the hymns Call Jehovah Thy Salvation Oh Paradise For All the Saints Who From Their Labors Rest and Hall to Hall the Lord Who Comes the last hymn being sung as the mourners left the cathedral I SERVICE AT THE GRAVE Bishop Tuttle who Is at the head of tie Episcopal church in America and who rctildcs at St Louis reached the city too late to take part in the service a the cathedral but reached the cemetery ceme-tery In time to take part In the burial performing the committal service and pronouncing the closing prayers and benediction Worshipful Master Henry Simon a member o the lodge of which Bishop Leonard was also a member conducted the burial 1 service of the Knight Templars at the grave MANY DO HIM HONOR The Masons and Knight Templars of the city attended the funeral services in n body marching from the cathedral cathe-dral to Fourth East and Second South streets where they took cars for the ccmetery Graduate and undergrndu ate nurses of St Marks Training school attended the services In uniform and among others were hen a majority of BODY LAY IN STATE Late Friday evening the remains of Bishop Leonard were moved from the family residence to tho cathedral where they t were guarded by the clergy In full vestments At 9 oclock yesterday morning l private ceremony attended only by the family and the clergy was conducted by the visiting bishops From 11 to 1 oclock the body lay in state and hundreds of men women and children who had learned to love and respect Bishop Leonard during the years he has lived among them passed by the cl let for a lost look at the familiar features Their sorrowful and tearstained tear-stained faces as they left the cathedral were evidence of the Jove and respect In which the late bishop was hald by all classes MEMORIAL SERVICE TODAY This morning at 1 oclock there will bo a memorial service
