| Show LEAVES FOR CAPITAL Prince r Henry and Party New on the Way to Washington New York Feb 24Prlnco Henry gave a dinner last night on board the imperial yacht Hohenzoilern His guests Included the Presidents representatives repre-sentatives Later Prince Henry at tended a reception given In his honor by the Deutscher Vercln at tho club house of the organization He wns organizaton escorted es-corted through the streets from the dock where the Hohenzoilern lies to tho clubhouse by Squadron A 6 the National Guard and attended by his suite RoarAdmiral von Baudlsaln and his officers and other guests All the party were In carriages while at the head of the line rode a detachment of mounted police In the Princes carriage car-riage rode RearAdmiral Evans and Assistant Secretary of State Hill On reaching tho clubhouse the Prince was received by President Rudolph Keppler and VIcePreMdont Otto T Schullcr He was ushered into the re ceptionroom where were gathered 200 members of the club with nearly as many more members of their families The clubrooms were handsomely decorated deco-rated with palms evergreens and cut evergeens lowers while on one of the walls on a background of the American colors hung 0 portrait of the German Emperor Em-peror At the special request of Prince Henry Hen-ry the club members and their fami lies were presented to him Ho stood In one of tho rooms with the German Embassador on his right and President Keppler on his left As the men were presented the Prince bowed and shook hands with each of the women Tho whole affair was over within half an hour hol From the clubhouse the Prince was driven to the Twentythird street ferry fer-ry of the Pennsylvania railroad where he took the ferryboat Philadelphia for the station In Jersey City which point was reached at 1210 this morning The Prince walked to the walced train through a roped Inclosuro guarded by eighty po Icemen under Chief of Police Murphy of Jersey City The train consists of eight cars the lat one being the Co lumbia devoted to the use of tho Prince and the Immediate attendants In addition to the police guard on the platform there were present Capt Ti tus of tho New York Detective Bureau and Chief Wllkle of the secret service The train left the station at 1 n m the Prince appearing on tho rear plat form of his car and bowing his ac knowledgement of the cheers of those in the station |
