Show DELAWARE DEMOCRATS Leaders Hold Conference on Senatorial Senator-ial Situation Dover Del Dec Democratic I leaders from all parts of the State to the number of 150 and Including all Democratic Assern h i ym en dec t except ex-cept three held a conferenceher today to consider the situation relative to the election of two United States Senators Sen-ators by the Legislature which will convene on Tuesday next January 1st No definite plan of action was decided f I I de-cided upon but the prevailing sentiment senti-ment of those who addressed tho meetIng meet-Ing and generally of those present was that the Democrats should use every endeavor to prevent the election of J Edward Adcllcks as one of the Senators The Legislature will be composed of twenty three Democrats and twenty nine Republicans Of the latter the Addicks faction is believed to control eighteen and eleven are expected to oppose Addicks for Senator Should all Senators and Assemblymen be present and vote on the ballot fv Senator Sen-ator twentyseven votes will be necessary neces-sary to elect Senate Chairman Willard Saulsbury presided at the conference today and urged that the Demoearts in the Legislature Legis-lature should not enter Into coalition with the Republicans unless the latter should agree that the Democrats should he conceded one of the United Slates Senators John Biggs former United States Attorney At-torney and former State chairman advocated ad-vocated the voting for two antlAd dlcks Republicans as did also Attor neyGeneral White if the plan for the election of one Democrat failed |
