Show REGISTRAR COMPLAINED OF I Two Cases in Which Votors Wera I Deprived of Their Rights II I I I Complaint was made yesterday of I action on the part of Charles G Bolton I i the Democratic registrar In the Fifty I sixth district at Mill Creek It is charged that in at least two cases he denied registration to people entitled to be registered The first case was that of Mrs Thirkelson a widow whose husband was naturalized In California Cali-fornia many years ago Ills naturalIzation I natural-ization papers were destroyed by fire Mrs Thirkelson voted several times I In the State and has lived In Mill Creek for a long time When she applied to I be registered Bolton refused to allow i I her He refused to allow her to make an aflldavlt that her husbands papers had been destroyed and also refused to allow two reputable citizens to make an aflldavlt as to Mrs Thirkclsons credibility She was not permitted to register at any time and has thus been deprived of voting The other case was that of Wallace Casper who was born and has lived all his life in Mill Creek and who owns land there During the summer he was employed on the Utah Central and moved his family to Sugar ward temporarily renting a house and remaining there for a few months He was denied registration on the ground that he was not a resident of the place where ho has lived all his life and where his property Is all situated It Is not thought Chairman Wilson Of the Democratic county committee will Insist I on Boltons removal however |
