earnings to nearly i 750000 It was not needed however to emphasize I empha-size the achievements of the company during the period in question and that so staggered the mathematician of a I morning publication that he dismissed I the whol Y thing as a source of vexation vexa-tion and roasted the management because be-cause It had neglected to accompany the exhibit with a diagram showing tho net earnings To those conversant with the cost of mining transportation treatment charges etc the statement was a very Intelligent one and no one but a very stupid reporter experienced any trouble whatever In getting within a few cents of what the net earnings during that period reached Mr Holden will attend the meeting of United Stales directors before which the preliminary plans for the new smelter will be placed early next month and expects to see them approved ap-proved and orders for active construction construc-tion Issued at once lie Is very much pleased with the condition In which
