Show GAD LODGE BNAI BRITH SEVENTH GENERAL CONVENTION CONVEN-TION OPENED YESTERDAY Sixteenth Delegates Were Denied tho Ii Right to VoteForeign Representatives Represen-tatives Were Not Regularly Elected I I Chicago April 29 Sixteen delegate to time seventh general convention of the constitutIon grand lodge of the Independent In-dependent Order of BNai BRIlh which held Its first session at the Auditorium Au-ditorium today were denied the right to vote In the deliberations of thai body though the privilege of the Iloor was given to them Time decision was arrived at after n spirited discussion of the iiuestlon after the committee I cm crcdenilals reported that the dele gales representing1 the lodges In Germany Ger-many Roumanla and Austria had not been regularly elected as was required by i the conslilutlon of the organization organiza-tion The majority of the delegates wero proxy representatl All the I delegates who have been prevented from voting arc from the United States some of them living In Denver and San Francisco I appears tha there were no delegates appointed tp the present convention by the lodges in the foreign countries named with the exception of one Slegmund Borgel of Berlin and proxy delegates were selected se-lected from the lodges in this country without the formality of an election Victor Abraham of Cincinnati was elected chairman Among the vice presidents named was Jacob Greene baum San Francisco A message from the president of the executive committee I Julius Blen dwelt at length on the past work of the organisation The convention will revise re-vise the laws and ass legislation from the various subordinate lodges President Den occupied the chair I |
