Show METHODIST CONFERENCE WILL OPEN IN CHICAGO ON WEDNESDAY NEXT The Proposed Admission of Women Delegates is Expected to Cause Some Warm Debate F Chicago April 29The Rev David S Monroe secretary of the Methodist general conference which meets In Chicago Chi-cago AArodnesday declared today that the question of the seating of the pro vlslottal delegates will bring on the first discussion after the conference convenes and will probably be referred to a special committee The proposed admission of women delegates also Is expcclod to cause a warm debate In 1SSS the general confer con-fer nce established precedent when tho bishops decided that women delegates dele-gates should not be scaled and their names were not called i InlSOG Secretary Monroe called the names of three women who wore present I pres-ent as delegates but they remained I without their title being disputed for ono day only During that line they voted for Dr Monroe us secretary but at the following session they withdrew from the conference Among those scheduled to address different dif-ferent meetings tie Bishop Henry AV Warren D D and D L Rader both of Denver |
