Show MEETING OF PHYSICIANS Doctors will Consider the Smallpox Situation at Special Meeting The Salt Lake County Medical society so-ciety held a meeting in the city and county building last night and decided to take up the smallpox situation in Salt Lake at a special meeting to beheld be-held tomorrow night The attendance last night was rather light and It was desired to have a cry full representation representa-tion present before taking any action in the matter There were present last night Dr I Root president Dr Ellerbcck score I tarv Drs M L R Stewart Belle Gem I moll A M Fisher E S Wright Behle I I H S Scott S Ewing L W Snow J C E King and W Y Croxall Dr Wright presented to the society two interesting clinics one the case of a child suffering from splnablllda a congenital deformity In which the mer lebrae were separated allowing iho covering of the spinal cord to bulge through the opening causing a tumor The condition Is a very rare one and proved very Interesting to the members mem-bers of the society who later discussed the different methods for treatment of the case The other case was that of a man aged C3 years who was suffering from Jaundice with hernia and other complications I After the discussion of tho cases presented pre-sented by Dr Wright the committee that was appointed at the previous meeting to report on formaldehyde announced an-nounced that Its work had not been completed owing to the absence of one of the members who had charge of one Important branch of the research and asked for more time Dr Ewing did not want the time extended indefinitely indefinite-ly I and asked that the report be presented pre-sented at the next regular meeting It was finally decided that If the committee commit-tee could possibly have Its report In shape by that time the report would be presented then President Root announced the new committees as follows Executive Drs Fisher Hosmcr and Cloxnll Admission Drs J S Richards Scott and Stewart Ethics Drs Harrison Molvenna and Hough The society ihen went Inlo executive session and considered the smallpox matter but decided to wait for a fuller attendance before doing anything in the matter |
