Show STJGAE PLANT FOR GKEELEY Utah Men Interested in Fine Plant to Be Built There Clarence A Granger the wellknown sugar man came to the city on Tuesday Tues-day He went to work with a will and by noon yesterday was able to announce an-nounce that with the aid of certain Salt Lakers he was in a position where he could build a 700000 sugar plant at Grcoley Cole The Salt Lakers who will be Interested in the new enterprise enter-prise arc Cutler Bros L S Hills Joseph Jo-seph Gcoghegan James Hople and David Da-vid J Evans The others Interested are E H Dyer Co of Cleveland C A Granger and C S Mory of Denver G H Naglc of Cheyenne who is also interested in-terested In the plant at Grand Junction Junc-tion and Henry Meyer of Omaha It will be a very close corporation said Mr Granger last evening There will be no stock for sale It has already al-ready been taken I have been working work-Ing this scheme for several months but more particularly during the last sixty days I was encouraged to do so by the fact that several of my Utah friends and others told me that Just as soon as I could find a place where I would invest my own money they would only be too willing to add tholrs to mine and they have kept the faith I am not prepared to say just yet how much stock each of the Individuals may take nor who will be the officers of the company BEST PLANT IN COUNTRY Our site is on the line of the railroad rail-road and within n mile of the heart of Grceley It Is composed of sixty acres We expect to have the best beet sugar plant in the United States as all who will be connected with It have agreed that It shall be built on the most modern methods and there will bu many Ideas of our own entering into Its construction which have not yet been adopted by any other concern To get the best there is we are willing to pay a little more than any one else might be willing to do Our capacity will be from 700 to SOO tons daily and the plant will be completed for sometime some-time ere the bests will be ready for us next year Grepley is but fifty feet higher on an average than any point where beets are raised in Utah and the climate is very similar to that of Utah valley We will have to use the Irrigation system as here of course The company will be Incorporated in Denver next week Mr Granger spoke of the success that has followed the working of the Utah plants ard said that they were mentioned In high terms in the Kast The new plant will be constructed by E H Dyer Bro who have built ail the plants In Utah Colorado and Oregon Ore-gon and also one in California |
