Show DEATH OF HENRY MARGETTS Former Resident of Salt Lake Passes Away in Idaho The news that Henry Margctla of Paris Bear Lake county Ida is dead will bo received with extreme regret by many of his friends who reside in this citjv to sty notliLnff of tine nuiiicr Otis relatives that survive mini WhJlc not aplonecr he might easily befis lcd one as he arrived In the Salt uaake 1k4 p Henry Margetts From a photograph taken In 1S70 and L tine only ono known to bo In existence in Utah valley September 3 1S50 and walked a goodly portion df the distance from the Missouri river to this point Ills first business was that of blacksmlthing and ho was a valuable accession to the community at that time an men of such skill us he possessed were in big demand Indeed there was scarcely a call upon him that he did not fulfill being not only a blacksmith a musician and actor but a man of a good deal Of nerve and energy which inspired others not so well equipped with the energy necessary to carry the pioneers through the many vicissitudes which met them In the early days In the early seventies Mr Margetts In company com-pany with several others of his faith was called upon to settle the valley of the Bear river and he has resided there since that time save when he made his periodical visits lo this city He has always been a devoted member of the Mormon church and yet at the Mine time he was extremely liberal In his views and the old boys who knew him in the long ago no mailer what their faith now may bq i will sorely sore-ly regret his taking off Several members mem-bers of the Margotts family which la quite numerous In this city will attend the funeral services which will bo held at his late residence In Paris tomorrow When here about a year ago Mr Margetls said while talking to a Tribune Trib-une man thill he regretted to see that so many of the oldtimers had passed way and added that it was only a questlon of lime with all of us The privations of theiearly years have been forgotten in the glory and plenitude of the present but the hard work and worry told on the bust of us and we will all go to our final rest that much eooner I suppose He was a brother of Phil Margclts and an uncle of Richard Frank George Harry Arthur and many others oC the iUargells boys |
