Show Charity Auction Brings High Price for Mink A top bid of $215 per pelt for a bundle of Emba Lutetia mink skins was recorded recently at a special auction sale . benefitting benefit-ting the March of Dimes in New York this week according to Alma Erekson, Chairman, Marketing Mar-keting Board, Emba Mink Breeders Breed-ers Association, 7545 South 2700 E., Salt Lake City. High bidder for the 12 natural gunmetal grey mink pelts, donated don-ated by the Emba Mink Breeders Breed-ers Association, was the Ben Kahn Fur Corporation (150 West 30 Street) of New York. The annual benefit auction is the traditional tra-ditional manner in which leading fur ranchers aid the March of Dimes campaign. Lively bidding marked the sale which was conducted by Broadway star Martha Wright at the Hudson's Bay Company Fur Sales. In addition to the record $2,580 paid for the pelts, $1,500 in donations brought the total to $4,080, largest 'collection made by the auction company for the charity. " 1 |
