Show UEA, PTA Issue Guide for Parents A booklet enttiled "Creative Parent-Teacher Conferences" designed de-signed to be a guide for parents and teachers was released this week by the Utah Education Association As-sociation and the Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers. The purpose of the 36 page booklet is to help parents and teachers to make parent-teacher conferences effective channels of communication. The booklet, written by Dr. Elliott D. Landau, Professor of Education, University Univer-sity of Utah, contains readable and practical suggestions for teachers, parents and principals. Also included are check lists and follow-up sheets to enable both parents and teachers to keep records of conference suggestions. sug-gestions. A bibliography of recommended rec-ommended reading is also included. in-cluded. "It is the aim of the sponsoring organizations to put a copy of this booklet in every home and classroom in Utah," says Dr. Ellvert Himes, president of the Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers. The program was developed by a joint committee bf the two organizations or-ganizations headed by Dr. Elliot Howe, chairman, of Pleasant Grove. Copies are available from the Utah Education Association, 312 East South Temple, and the Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers, 42 West South Temple, for 25 cents in single copies. A twenty per cent discount will be allowed for orders in quantities of ten and more. The booklet will be distributed nationally by the National School Public Relations Rela-tions Association of Washington, D.C.
