Show S.L. School District Spends $34 Million For Capital Outlay Since end of World War II, Salt Lake School District has spent a total of $3421 1,975 for capital outlay. Last year the district spent $1,261,777 for capital cap-ital outlay purposes. These facts were reported by Utah Foundation in their 1960 edition of the Statistical Alphabet Alpha-bet of Government in Utah. This 65 page reference publication is a compilation of the most wanted and most frequently used data pertaining to the government and the economy of Utah. The Foundation abstract shows that all forty Utah school districts dis-tricts spent a total of $181,344.-740 $181,344.-740 between 1945 and 1959 for capital outlay purposes. During the 1958-59 school year, capital outlay expenditures in Utah amounted to $26,851,844. In order to finance this huge capital outlay program, many districts raised part of the needed need-ed funds through the sale of bonds. The Foundation publication publica-tion shows that the total net indebtedness in-debtedness (after allowing for sinking funds) of all forty school districts at the end of the 1958-59 1958-59 school year was $55,841,979. The report reveals that Salt Lake School District had a net outstanding indebtedness of $2,-244,000 $2,-244,000 at the close of the 1958-59 1958-59 school year. |
