Show Ital an Day Slated July 19 at Lagoon The twenty-fifth anniversary of all state Italian Day will be celebrated Sunday, Muly 19, at Lagoon with Mayor Adiel F. Stewart and Italian Vice Consul Fortunato Anselmo in attendance. attend-ance. . . . ' The outing, sponsored by the Italian-American Civic League, will include games, races, professional pro-fessional entertainment and refreshments, re-freshments, said Tom Campa-naro Campa-naro and Mrs. Frank Murray, co-chairmen. co-chairmen. The nationally famous Gay-lords Gay-lords Vocal Trio will be the day's major entertainment feature. The trio members are of Italian descent. A "Queen for a Day" will be selected at 2 p.m. Contestants must be at least 14 years of age and be of Italian extraction, of-ficals of-ficals said. Father Manuel Lucero of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Ogden Og-den will give the opening prayer. He will be introduced by Angelo Fucco, master of ceremonies. Speakers in addition to Mayor Stewart and Mr. Anselmo will include presidents of the two chapters of the league, Sam L. Shortino and Mrs. Lucy Rino. Games and other entertainment are being provided under direction direc-tion of Sam Barbiero and Gene Giovacchini. The day's activities will conclude con-clude with dancing. |
