Show Telephone Company To Present New TV Program A new Bell Telephone Hour, which will be live and in color, is to be initiated Monday, Jan. 12, at 6:30 p.m. over Channel 4. According to H. K. Richmond, district manager of the company, "It will be the objective of the new Telephone Hour program to present the best in a variety of music and dance entertainment. Harry Belafonte, whose art as a folk singer is world famous, will be one of the stars. Other artists to appear on the program will include Metropolitan Opera star Renata Tebaldi, Maurice Evans, a celebrated comedy and tragedy personality in theatre and on television; Arthur Gold and Robert Fizdale, duo-pianists; Janet Reed with the New York City Ballet and Donald Vorhees, who conducted the Telephone Hour radio program for 18 years. Other Bell Telephone Hour programs with the world's greatest great-est vocal and instrumental soloists solo-ists as guest artists are planned for February, March and April, Mr. Richmond said. |
