Show Former Urahn To Give Lecture A former Salt Lake resident has been named to deliver the Howe lecture at the February national convention of the Metallurgical Met-allurgical Society of AIME in San Francisco. Recently retired as technical director of the Battelle Memorial Memo-rial Institute in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Clarence E. Sims lived in Salt Lake while attending the University of Utah, where he received a master's degree in metallurgy in 1916. Since then he has worked with the Anaconda Mining Co., the Chemical Warfare Service, the Aluminum Company of America, the U. S. Bureau of Mines and the American Steel Foundation. Dr. Sims is author or co-author of 80 technical publications. His February address will be titled, "The Non-metallic Constituents of Steel." |
