Show Mr. Keddington 's labor of Love The vast redistricting program carried out by County Clerk Alvin Keddington, as reported in last week's issue of The Salt Lake Times, is an example of a dedicated man doing a job because of a desire to serve the people. Mr. Keddington didn't have to redistrict. He could have let things fo right along the way they had been. But he saw that the old system was no longer adequate to modern Salt Lake County. And he set about to do something about it. The remarkable thing is that Mr. Keddington did most of the extensive work involved on his own time. He personally inspected most of the county's more than 300 districts. With Mrs. Keddington he spent many of his week ends tramping through outlying districts to get a first hand idea of present conditions. He then supervised preparation of new district maps and (Continued on Pae 4) Mr. Keddinflon's Labor of Love (Continued from Page 1) attended to many other details of such an operation. Because of the county clerk's devotion to his job the residents of Salt Lake County have been given a concise, easy to understand under-stand voting district setup. And it cost them virtually nothing. |
