Maw, died Sunday at her resi-dence incident to age. She was 88. Mrs. Maw was born in Ken-tucky May 30, 1870, to Thomas and Fanny Baldwin Brown. She was married to Ephraim . G. Maw Feb. 17, 1892 in the Lo-gan Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. He died Sept. 28, 1954. In addition to the former governor, two sons and a daughter survive. Funeral services were con-ducted Wednesday. $178.68, which is the amount claimed to be due for labor and repairs at the time of the first publication of this notice. Sets Deadline For Science Grants Mathematics and science teach-ers will have until Jan. 15 to complete applications for the 50 one-ye- ar study grants offered by the 1959-6- 0 Academic Year In-stitute at the University of Utah. The deadlines for the 1959-6- 0 institutes at 32 participating schools was set at a meeting of the institute directors in Wash-ington, D.C. National Science Foundation, sponsor of the program, will send bulletins to 100,000 high school and junior high school teachers Nov. 15 inviting their applications for the grants, Dr. T. J. Parmley said upon his re-turn from the Washington con-ference. University of Utah will send its own announcement on the program to more than 3,000 teachers Dec. 1. National Science Foundation will extend the 1959-6- 0 program to 32 campuses including three additional schools in the eleven western states. University of New Mexico, Arizona State Col-lege at Tempe and San Diego State College next year will join the University of Utah, Oregon State College and the University of Colorado, which have been the western participants in the program since its inception on 16 U.S. campuses two years ago. For next year's program, the University of Utah has received a $300,000 grant which will en-able the school to expand its in-stitute into four quarters.
