A Cincinnati Man Comes Here to Create Trouble for John Berk and the Blot Springs Xew Actions Commenced Baeiness Disposed of by Judge Z&ne Probate Tro-eeedings Tro-eeedings General Court States. Judge Lochrie will announce his decision tomorrow in the case of Theodore Conraim vs. C. M. Freed, in which the plaintiff sues to recover $299 for an alleged assault and battery. Before Judge Zane. The case of Annie Robbins vs. B. G. Ray. bouid and W. H. Cromer was taken up in the Third district court this morning. The plaintiff sues to recover $2100 alleged to be due on a real estate transaction. Judge Anderson's Reception. Judge Anderson's hosts of friends will tender him a reception at the Knutsford this evening at 8:30. The reception committee is composed of Arthur Brown, A. G. Norrell, Governor West, F. S. Richards, R. C. Chambers and W. H. Dickson. A Rent Bill. Hymon Harris today brought suit against the Freed Furniture company to recover $600 alleged to be due for rent. On a Promissory Mote. Meyer, Hornberger & Co. have brought suit against D. Alexander A Co. to recover $1200 alleged to be due on a promissory note. Tomorrow's Settiaga. George Webb vs. E. H. Parsons. W. J. Dowell et al. vs. E. H. Parsons, Ferdinand Dickert vs. John Beck. t . A Foreclosure Suit. The Utah Commercial & Savings bank has brought suit to foreclose a mortgage for $795. A Heavy Suit. Louis Rothenberg, a Cincinnati capitalist today brought suit in the Third district court against John Beck and others to forclose a mortgage amounting to about $16,000 on the Beck's Hot Springs property. William Kahn and Judje Loof bourow are the attorneys for the plaintiff. It is understood that there are other claims against the property amounting in ail to something like $125,000, and this suit will probably precipitate similar action on all of these claims. Court Notes. Frank E. McGurrin has obtained judgment against Martin Schmidt for $180.25. In the case of Mason & Co. vs. Wm. Joy, the default of the defeudent was entered today. to-day. William Duerden, charged with stealing several head of sheep belonging to J. W. W. Fitzgerald of Draper, was found not guilty last evening. Judgment was entered today in favor of the plaintiff for $6,787.05 in the case of Allen Al-len G. Campbell vs. J. R. McBride. In the case of Edward J. Wiener v. the Laramie National bank, the defendant today to-day confessed judgment for $701.87. In the case of Mason fc Co. vs. T. J. An-gell An-gell & Co., leave was granted today to amend their answer. In the divorce case of Frank Merril vs. Mattie Merril, leave has been granted to file an amended answer and cross-complaint. The demurrer in the case of U. I. Miers vs. Thomas Vcnard has been referred to Hon. T. J. Anderson. A decree 'of foreclosure has been entered in the case of Gertrude Van Anda vs. Fred Titt et al. In the case of R. E. Moulton, charged with obtaining money under false pretenses, Judge Zane this morning fixed the defendant's defen-dant's bail at $250 and referred the case to Commissioner Greenman. Hon. J. L. Rawlins, the delegate-elect, appeared ap-peared in the Third district court this morning morn-ing and received congratulations from his friends. Probate Court. In the matter of the estate of 'William H. Oslesby . hearing petition for letters of administration ad-ministration came up. Order made appointing appoint-ing Byron Groo administrator on filing a bond for $!200. Order made appointing appraisers ap-praisers and approving sdministrator's oond. Estate of Andrew Peterson; petition for letters ot administration beard. Order made appointing Andrew F. Peterson administrator ad-ministrator on filing bond in the sum of $3o00 and taking the necessary oath. Appraisers Ap-praisers were appointed. Estate of Nels Pohlson, on petition for letters of administration, came up; order made appointing Jessie Argent administrator adminis-trator on filing a bond in the sum of $1000 and taking the necessary oath. In the estate of Isaac Meddows, S. TV. Darke was appointed administrator on filing a bond for $17,000 and taking the necessary oath. Estate of Harley Warner was continued till the llih inst Estate of Jessie E. Jack came up and J. F: Jack was appointed adminstrator on filing a bond for $1000 and taking the oath. Estate of Nels Peterson for settling of final account was heard. Account of Hans P. Peterson and A. J. Peterson, administrator administra-tor and executor, was allowed except items of a cbargs of $500, which was stricken out. Petition for distribution was continued to the 16th inat. |
