Show IN THE POLICE COURT. Charles Blake, a Soldier, Arraigned for the Crime of Petit Larceny. A well known man about town, sailing under the name of A. M. Graham, was arraigned ar-raigned in the police court this morning on a charge of vagrancy. He is reputed to be a morphine fiend and his own worst enemy. He pleaded not guilty and asked that Manager Man-ager Stoddard of the Ensor institute and Louis Hyams be subpoenaed in his behalf. His case was continued in order to enable him to prepare his defense. A SOLDIER IX JAIL. Charles Blake, a soldier, accused of petit larceny in having stolen ?43 belonging to George Stein, a member of his company, entered a plea of guilty, which he supplemented supple-mented with the statement that he had picked the boodle up and expended it. His hearing was set for to-morrow morning at 10 o'clock. SHORT ORDERS. 8. McNutt, John Frank, Jim Pollock and Frank Newberg were each fined $5 or ordered or-dered imprisoned five days for drunkenness. Alof Nordstrom, , charged with stealing a suit of clothes from Fred Hilton, pleaded not guilty to petit larceny, and his case was set for 3 p.m. The charge against Mr. and Mrs. Burnside of allowing chickens to trespass on a neighbor's neigh-bor's property was dismissed at the request of the prosecution. Pete Nystrom entered a plea of guilty to the charge of selling liquor on Sunday, and paid a fine of fi5. The case of G. C. Charlton, Charl-ton, charged with a similar offense, will be disposed of tomorrow morning:. F. M. Sawyer, the alleged assailant of Mrs. Phil Adams, filed a bond last evening, with F. E. Barker and George Romney, jr., as sureties within fifteen minutes after the decision of Justice Gee was rendered and was released from custody. |
