Tbe Central Republican League club of Salt Lake City start the political ball rolling tomorrow evening at the old federal courtroom court-room in the Wasatch building. The occasion is the presentation of an elegant' ele-gant' banner to this club by Mrs. Arthur Brown. The National League of Republican clubs is said to be the strongest, most effective effect-ive political organization ever organized. As a part of the national organization the Utah league, with its 140 clubs, comprising a membership of over 4000, cuts no small figure. Of the clubs comprising the Territorial league, the Central club of Salt Lake City was the first to organize and is the largest and leading club. The meeting tomorrow evening is a public one and everybody is invited in-vited to attend. Tuesday evening is the regular reg-ular weekly night for the Harrison andReid club. This club will be invited to attend the League club meeting in a body. It will also be made the occasion of the formal opening of Republican headquarters in the same building. The Territorial and County committees, com-mittees, together with the Central League club and the Harrison and Reid club, have joined in establishing regular Republican headquarters in Clerk McMillan's old rooms, directly across the hall from the old federal courtroom. They are being overhauled and nut in Shane. From tomorrow the dif- fereut Republican committees and organizations organiza-tions will be at homo to all corners. The headquarters will he in charge of a competent compe-tent person and will be open during business busi-ness hours until the close of the campaign. Any one in search of political information or any of the literature issued by the national na-tional organizations will be welcome it headquarters. A committee is busy at work this afternoon arranging the details for the meeting tomorrow evening. The program will include not only the banner presentation presen-tation but short speeches from prominent Republicans and music from the Giee club and "Kid" drum corps. It may. safely be regarded that from this time on until the last ballot is in the box, the Republicans of Salt Lake City are most decidedly "in it" |
