The house was beauiifuily decorated with the ever popular chrysanthemum, the dining room being especially respleudent with them, and over the door and windows were tastefully arranged festoons of autumn leaves. The refreshments were most dainty and elegantly served. Each guest received a Japanese fan which was used as a tally card. Eight games were played and Miss Dwyer obtained the first prize, a gold and pearl bon-bon spoon. Mrs. Benedict got the second prize, a silver card tray. Among the guests were Mrs. William Jennings, Mrs. John W.Young, Mrs. W. W. Kiter, Airs. Henderson, Mrs. Newton, Miss Sorley, Mrs. Isaac Clayton, Mrs. Joe Sharp, Mrs. John Sharp, Mrs. J. E. Jennings, Mrs. T.W.Jennings, Mrs. Arthur Brown, Mrs. Richards, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. Dunbar, Mrs. Linforth, Mrs. J. B. Farlow, Mrs. Le Grand Young, Mrs. Margaret Clawson, Mrs. Annie Sharp, Mrs. Dougall and others. There was a charming impromptu card party at Miss Margaret Zane's last Tuesday evening. It was very informal, but thoroughly thor-oughly enjoyable. Those who made up the Eleasant party were Miss Shearman, Miss awrence, Misses Longmaid, Miss Love and Miss Hanauer, Messrs. John Donnellan, Lawrence, Grant Hampton, Max Hanauer, Dr. Witcher and Mr. Garlinski. Mr. C. F. Annctt arrived home on Saturday Satur-day last from a trip to the principal Eastern cities, includiug a run down to Washington, D. C He had a very pleasant time. Mrs. Geo. Y. Wallace and Miss Grace Wallace Wal-lace left last Monday for an extended trip East. v Mr. J. M. Bidwell arrived home on Thursday Thurs-day from a visit to his home in Kansas City: He also made a flying trip to Chicago and enjoyed a few days in looking over the World's fair buildings. Miss Katherine Love of Philadelphia will leave next week for her home, stopping en route at Colorado Springs. She has been the guest of the Misses Hanauer the past few weeks and has made a very large number of friends, who hope to again have the pleasure of meeting her. Messrs. W. P. Jennings and D. C. Dunbar leave tomorrow for a month's visit in Boston and other Eastern cities, combining business and pleasure. Mr. David L. Gregg left this morning for a business trip to Chicago. Miss Edith Shearman gave a small and in- formal itincheon this afternoon to a few of her friends, which was most enjoyable to those who were present, as the affair in all its appointments was most tastefully ar-roneed. ar-roneed. These parties re very popular and form a great part of the social diversion of the Golden Gate. Mrs. Hathaway, who has been visiting Mrs. Tyler, has returned to her home in Kentucky. Misa Ruth Palmer expects to soon par a Tisit to Chicago relatives. Captain Palmer is expecting the arrival of his son, Mr Guy Palmer, who recently passed his examinations examina-tions for a commission as second lientenant. Captain Whitall is absent on a month's leave. 4ft Lieutenant Woodward is Interesting the enlisted men in football and hopes to soon have a good team. Here Is a good chance for a match at home for the other football team spoken of in The Times, which has been organized and is already hard at work.
