Show BOLD BAD ROBBERS. They Hold t'p a Train and Secure Forty Thousand Dollars. Guthrie, O. T., July 15. The Missouri, Kansas & Texas passenger Irain Ko2 south bound, was held tip by a.ganj of rqbbers at Adair, Indian Territory late last night. The robbers secured the contends of the safe of the Pacific Express company and made good their escape. It is believed the robbers are the noted Dalton cansr who are responsible for a large number of similar crimes in the territory. Tfce method of the robbery cor-reiponded cor-reiponded with the method of the Dalton operations. The train had just left Adair when two men crawled over the tender, terrorized the engineer and lireman with drawn revolvers and commanded the engineer engi-neer to stop the train.,, As lie did so a posBe on the train prepared for the attack which was immediately made by members of the gang from the roadside,. J. W. Kenuey and two Indian policemen,memberof the posse, were shot and slightly wounded. They together with other members of the posse retreated and left the robbers a clear field. The express messenger iu the meantime locked the safe and hid the key, after haying barricaded the doors of the ear. The robbers broke through the barricade barri-cade and drilled the safe and blew it opeu with powder, securing the entire contents. The amount stolen is believed to be in the neighborhood f4O,OU0.
