Show THE LEGISLATURE. The Council. Tho council met as per adjournment and after prayers by the chaplain, reading and approval of the journal, settled down to the work of the thirty-fonrthday. A bill was presented to prohibit the employment em-ployment of Plnkerton and other detective associations as peace ollleers. A petition wa3 presented, signod by a hundred or more of tho citizens of Manti City, San Pete county, asking the governor and the legislature to protect a stream of water called City creek from being used as a place wherein sheep meu wash and shear thousands of their sheep. C. F. No. "4 was up for second reading. This is a bill creating a territorial board of equalization for equalizing tho assessment of taxes in the territory, and prescribing its powers and duties.
